About the Position

Job Title

Sterile Processing Technician

Location

Durango, CO | Sterile Processing Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 4x10 shifts | Mid shifts available: Days (0600–1630) and Evenings (1300–2300) | On-site

Key Responsibilities

Perform instrument assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of typical OR instrumentation
Operate ultrasonic equipment, decontamination systems, and VPRO sterilizers
Support sterile processing for a broad range of surgical cases including Ortho, Spine, Robotic, General, Urology, Gyn, and ENT
Adhere to a 30-minute call response time when on call
Participate in self-scheduling for holidays; call coverage expected approximately every 8 weeks (24-hour Saturday and Sunday call rotation)

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience
Active BLS certification required
Active CRCST or CBSPD certification required
Proficiency with ultrasonic equipment, decontamination, assembly, and VPRO sterilization systems
Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
Clinicians must be present in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely

Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience processing instrumentation for complex surgical specialties such as Spine, Robotics, or Orthopedics
Familiarity with a high-volume, multi-suite sterile processing environment (9 OR suites)
